What Is Paxum? How the Payout Wallet Works for Cam Models

What Paxum is, who runs it, what it costs to receive and withdraw a cam payout, whether it is legit, and why US residents cannot use it.

Paxum is an online payment account (an e-wallet) run by Paxum Bank Limited, a bank licensed in the Commonwealth of Dominica, that lets people and businesses send and receive money across borders. Cam sites, studios and affiliate programs use it to pay performers and partners abroad: the money lands in your Paxum account, and you move it to your bank, to a card or to a Paxum prepaid card. It is a real, regulated service, but personal accounts are not open to US residents, and every way out of the wallet has a fee.

This guide explains what Paxum is and who runs it, how the account works, what it costs (fees checked on Paxum’s own pages in November 2026), whether Paxum is legit, who cannot use it, and how a cam payout turns into cash, with a worked example.

What Paxum is

Paxum is a payment platform built for people who get paid online by companies in other countries. You open an account with your email address, verify your identity, and then anyone with a Paxum account can pay you by sending money to that email. The balance sits in your Paxum account until you withdraw it.

The service belongs to Paxum Bank Limited, based in Roseau, Dominica. Paxum’s licenses page says the bank is chartered under Dominica’s Offshore Banking Act No. 8 of 1996, which allows business with non-resident clients, and that Dominica’s Financial Services Unit (FSU) monitors and regulates it. The same company runs paxumbank.com, which offers current and savings accounts, loans and merchant services, and calls itself the exclusive servicer of all Paxum-branded accounts and cards. In short: Paxum.com is the wallet, Paxum Bank is the bank behind it.

For cam models, Paxum is mostly one thing: a way to receive your earnings when a platform cannot pay you by a local method. If you are new to the work itself, our guide to cam modeling covers what models do and how they earn before payment questions come up.

How Paxum works: what Paxum payment means

A “Paxum payment” is usually a transfer from one Paxum account to another. Paxum’s FAQ describes it this way:

  • Payments by email. You can link up to 3 email addresses to your account; a transfer sent to any of them lands in your balance. Transfers between Paxum users arrive instantly.
  • Two account types. Personal accounts are meant for people paid for their services, such as freelancers, affiliates and performers. Business accounts are for companies that pay many people at once (mass payouts by file upload or API) and for studios. You can verify only one personal account.
  • Limits on personal accounts. You can receive unlimited payments, but a personal account can send only 5 transfers a day to other Paxum users, and it cannot receive money from people or companies that are not Paxum users. That is why platforms that pay through Paxum have their own business account.
  • Several currencies. Paxum offers USD, EUR and GBP currency accounts and supports more currencies for withdrawals. Its receive-payments page lists USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD and RON for incoming money.
  • An app. The Paxum app for iOS and Android shows your balance and lets you send transfers and start withdrawals.

Why cam sites pay models through Paxum

A cam platform has models in many countries. Paying each one by local bank transfer or wire means a separate, often costly transfer per model. With Paxum, the platform sends one batch of transfers from its business account, and each model receives hers in seconds, whatever country she lives in. Paxum has a page aimed at webcam models that says exactly this: collect payments from every cam platform or studio you work with in one account, then withdraw them.

On the model’s side, the platform only needs the email address of your Paxum account, entered in your payout settings. CamSoda, for example, lists Paxum on its model payouts page as a payout method for international models only, next to check (US and Canada), direct deposit (US only) and domestic or international wire. Pay periods run Monday to Sunday, payments are typically issued the following Thursday, and the minimum payout is $20 for standard methods ($500 for international wires). If you work through a studio, the studio may be the one that gets paid and then pays you, often through Paxum as well; our guide to webcam model agencies explains how that split works.

Paxum fees for a personal account

Opening and verifying an account is free. The fees come when money moves. These are the main ones a model meets, from Paxum’s personal account fee table, checked November 3, 2026:

What you do Fee
Receive a transfer from another Paxum user (how platforms usually pay) $0.25
Withdraw by local bank transfer to your own account $5.00 ($8.95 in COP)
Withdraw by wire to your own account in USD $50.00
Withdraw by wire to your own account in EUR $40.00
Withdraw by wire in another currency $25.00
Send to a credit or debit card in your name (not a Paxum card) $6.00 + 4%
Load your Paxum UnionPay prepaid card $0.25
Prepaid card: card issue / monthly maintenance $10.00 / $3.75
Prepaid card: ATM withdrawal in the card’s currency $2.00 + 1%
Prepaid card: ATM or purchase in another currency 3.5% currency fee (+ $2.00 at an ATM)
Account not used in the past 6 months $5.00 a month
Account termination up to $50

Two things stand out. The withdrawal route matters far more than the incoming fee: a local bank transfer costs $5, a USD wire costs ten times that. And an account you stop using costs $5 a month once it has been idle for 6 months; Paxum’s sign-up FAQ says no dormant fee is charged when the balance is $0.00, so empty the account if you stop camming. Business accounts pay more per transfer ($1.00 to receive from another Paxum user, for example), which matters if you run a studio.

Getting money out of Paxum

Once a payout is in your balance, Paxum offers five ways out:

  1. Local bank transfer (EFT) to your own bank account, where available in your country. Paxum says this covers 50+ countries in 20+ currencies.
  2. Wire transfer to your own bank account, anywhere wires reach.
  3. Withdrawal to a card in your name. Paxum’s FAQ says most users see the money instantly or within a few hours, occasionally over a day.
  4. The Paxum UnionPay prepaid card, for ATM withdrawals and purchases wherever UnionPay is accepted. Loads arrive instantly. Only verified accounts with a recent proof of address and a confirmed phone number can order one; standard delivery is free and takes up to 4 weeks.
  5. A transfer to another Paxum user, for example to pay a studio or an assistant who also uses Paxum.

Which route is cheapest depends on what your bank charges on its side and on currency conversion, which Paxum’s fee table does not include. Before your first withdrawal, check whether your country has the local bank transfer option: it is usually the cheapest way to get a cam payout into an ordinary bank account.

Worked example: a $500 cam payout through Paxum

Here is the whole path from tokens to cash, with illustrative numbers. Say you earned 10,000 tokens in a week. At CamSoda’s published value of $0.05 per token to models (which may vary by region), that is 10,000 × $0.05 = $500.00, well above the $20 minimum payout. The example assumes the platform pays you as a transfer from its own Paxum account; your payout page tells you how your platform sends it.

  1. The payout arrives. Paxum charges $0.25 to receive a transfer from another Paxum user: $500.00 − $0.25 = $499.75 in your account.
  2. Route A, local bank transfer: $499.75 − $5.00 = $494.75 sent to your bank.
  3. Route B, USD wire: $499.75 − $50.00 = $449.75 sent to your bank.
  4. Route C, prepaid card: $499.75 − $0.25 = $499.50 on the card. Taking $200 out at an ATM in the card’s currency then costs $2.00 + 1% of $200 = $4.00, and the card itself costs $10 to issue and $3.75 a month.
Flow from a $500 cam payout into a Paxum account and out by bank transfer, USD wire or prepaid card, with the amount left after each fee
Illustrative numbers using Paxum’s personal fee table, checked November 2026; your bank’s own charges and currency conversion are not included.

Choosing a local bank transfer over a USD wire keeps $45 more of a single $500 payout. Paid weekly, the choice of withdrawal method is worth more than most models expect. Our guide to how much cam models make walks through the rest of the gap between gross earnings and take-home pay, including taxes.

Is Paxum legit?

Yes, in the sense that matters: Paxum is a real payment service run by a licensed bank, used by cam platforms, studios and affiliate networks to pay people abroad. Its own pages show the signs of a regulated institution:

  • A banking license under Dominica’s Offshore Banking Act, with supervision by Dominica’s Financial Services Unit.
  • Identity checks (KYC) for every account: photo ID and a separate proof of address issued within the last 3 months. Paxum says it verifies every customer because the rules it operates under require it.
  • Security options: transaction approval codes, login protection, access limited by IP address and two-factor authentication for personal accounts.

“Legit” is not the same as “right for everyone”, though. Keep these limits in mind:

  • Offshore, not local. Paxum Bank is regulated in Dominica, not by your own country’s banking regulator. Paxum’s Terms say the laws of Dominica take precedence in disputes.
  • No buyer protection for transfers. Paxum’s FAQ says it does not handle disputes between users: if you pay someone and something goes wrong, you deal with them directly, and Paxum’s compliance team looks only at suspected fraud.
  • Accounts can be limited. Paxum may restrict an account to check documents, most often when your ID has expired, and its Terms let it refuse or hold transactions it considers risky.
  • Mixed user feedback. Complaints in app store reviews center on verification delays and withdrawals, which is why the document checklist below is worth following to the letter.

A practical rule: use Paxum as a pass-through, not a savings account. Let payouts arrive, withdraw them on a regular schedule, and keep your verification documents current.

Does Paxum work in the USA?

Not for individuals living there. Paxum’s Terms and Conditions (last updated March 1, 2023) say that Paxum.com users who are natural persons may not hold an account if they are citizens or residents of the United States. US-based models therefore do not use Paxum for personal payouts. They are usually paid by check, direct deposit or wire instead, which is why cam platforms often offer Paxum to international models only. Paxum Bank does advertise a USA virtual bank account for its business clients, which is a separate product for companies.

The same Terms list other prohibited jurisdictions where Paxum will not open or keep accounts, among them Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Cuba, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen and Zimbabwe, plus regions such as Crimea and the Gaza Strip. You must also not access the account from a prohibited country. Paxum Bank’s charter also excludes citizens and residents of Dominica itself. Check the full list in the Terms before you choose Paxum as your payout method.

How to open a Paxum account and get paid

  1. Sign up for a personal account on paxum.com. Paxum says the form takes 3 to 4 minutes and asks for your name, address, date of birth, phone number, nationality and email.
  2. Choose the right type the first time. After verification, the account type cannot be changed. Independent models use a personal account; a studio that pays models needs a business account.
  3. Upload your documents inside the account: a photo ID (passport or driver’s license) and a proof of address, which cannot be the same document. The address proof must be a bank statement, card statement, utility bill or government-issued bill from the last 3 months, matching the address you typed exactly.
  4. Wait for approval. Paxum says accounts are pre-approved within 24 hours; full verification can take longer.
  5. Add the Paxum email to your cam platform’s payout settings and select Paxum as your payout method. Use the exact email linked to your Paxum account.
  6. Turn on the security options (two-factor authentication, transaction approval codes) before money starts arriving.

Choosing your payout method is one step of a longer setup; the full sequence, from ID verification to your first broadcast, is in our guide to how to become a cam model.

Why Paxum is not working: common fixes

Most problems people search for come back to verification or card rules. From Paxum’s FAQ:

  • Account limited: look for a ticket from Paxum staff in your account’s Support section. The usual cause is an expired ID; uploading a current one normally resolves it.
  • No confirmation email: check spam and junk folders and whitelist the paxum.com domain.
  • Address not accepted: the document must be under 3 months old and match your profile address exactly. Without a bill in your own name, a bill in a spouse’s or close relative’s name can work if you also prove the relationship.
  • Payout not showing: confirm the email in your cam platform’s payout settings matches one verified on your Paxum account, and that you reached the platform’s minimum payout. Check whether earnings below the minimum roll over to the next period.
  • Card blocked: three wrong PINs in a row block the card temporarily; open a ticket or call support to unblock it.
  • Card purchase still pending: the merchant has 7 days to settle it, sometimes up to 15 for online pre-authorizations; the money stays reserved until then.
  • Want to cancel a withdrawal: open a support ticket right away.

Where sources about Paxum disagree

Some information about Paxum online is out of date, and even Paxum’s own pages do not always agree:

  • The card brand. Older help pages, including some cam platforms’ payout guides, still describe a “Paxum MasterCard”. Paxum’s current FAQ and fee table describe a Paxum UnionPay prepaid card. UnionPay is the one to expect, and it works only where UnionPay is accepted.
  • The card’s cost. Paxum’s card FAQ says you need $44.95 in your USD balance to activate the card because an annual fee is charged on activation. Its fee table lists a $10.00 card issue fee, a $0.00 annual fee and a $3.75 monthly fee. The fee table is the price list; confirm the amount shown in your account before you order.
  • Who regulates Paxum. Some summaries mention a Canadian registration and a founding year. The Paxum pages we read name only Paxum Bank Limited and Dominica’s Financial Services Unit, so that is what we state here.

Choosing a payout method: Paxum, check, direct deposit or wire

When your platform offers several payout methods, pick by where you live and how you want the money:

Your situation Best fit Why
You live in the US Direct deposit or check Paxum personal accounts are closed to US residents
You live in Canada Check, or Paxum Check is offered in the US and Canada; Paxum adds speed and card access
You live elsewhere and earn under $500 per period Paxum International wire payouts can carry a $500 minimum; Paxum payouts can start at $20
You live elsewhere and earn large, steady amounts Paxum or international wire Compare your bank’s incoming wire charge with Paxum’s $5 local transfer
You work with several platforms or a studio Paxum One account collects every payout
You live in a country on Paxum’s prohibited list Wire, or ask the platform’s accounting team Paxum will not open an account for you

The minimums in the table are the ones on CamSoda’s model payouts page; other platforms set their own. If you are ready to start, you can apply to become a model and choose your payout method during signup.

Frequently asked questions

What is Paxum used for?

Paxum is used to send and receive money across borders, mostly by online businesses paying people abroad: cam platforms and studios paying models, affiliate networks paying partners, and companies paying freelancers. Recipients then withdraw to a bank, a card or a Paxum prepaid card.

What is Paxum Pay?

There is no separate product called Paxum Pay on Paxum’s website. People use the phrase for paying or being paid through a Paxum account, usually an instant transfer to the email address linked to the account. “Pay with ease” is Paxum’s slogan.

Can I trust Paxum?

Paxum is run by Paxum Bank Limited, a bank licensed in Dominica and supervised by its Financial Services Unit, and it verifies every account holder’s ID and address. It does not handle disputes between users and can limit accounts during document checks, so treat it as a way to receive and move money, not as a place to keep savings.

Does Paxum work in the USA?

Not for individuals: Paxum’s Terms bar natural persons who are US citizens or residents from holding a Paxum.com account. US-based cam models are usually paid by direct deposit, check or wire instead.

How do I get my money from Paxum?

Withdraw it to your own bank account by local bank transfer ($5 to your own account) or wire ($25 to $50 depending on currency), send it to a card in your name ($6 + 4%), or load a Paxum UnionPay prepaid card ($0.25 per load) and use it at ATMs and shops. Fees are from Paxum’s personal fee table, checked November 2026.

How long does Paxum take?

Transfers between Paxum users, which is how most platforms pay, arrive instantly. Withdrawals to an external card usually arrive within a few hours, and money you add to Paxum by wire can take 3 to 5 business days to be credited.
