Cosplay Cams A Newbie’s Guide.

Cosplay Cams A Newbie’s Guide.

Have you ever heard of cosplay? This is the act of dressing up in costumes in order to transform into characters from video games, anime, movies, and tv shows. The people who participate in this are often referred to as cosplayers and hundreds of cam models, as well as cam users, are into this.

Today I’m going to cover the rules of cosplay and many other things that you need to know about this if you’re a model looking to incorporate it into your cam shows. If you’ve seen any photos or videos of those jam-packed conventions with people parading around in costumes, then you’ve seen cosplayers hard at work!

Getting Into Character: Cosplay Camming Guide

Before I get into the details of cosplay, I figured I’d share just how popular this niche really is. On a monthly basis, there are 925,000 people worldwide performing cosplay related searches online. The United States makes up about 246,000 of those searches.

If you’re curious about this niche, so are 18,100 people who are specifically searching for, “what is cosplay” online. In short, lots of people are either curious, interested, or both! The cam models that do a good job at this are often the highest-paid and you’ll soon understand why.

Models are able to make the impossible, possible. They fulfill a need or bring a fantasy to life which typically is hard to find in person. Over the years, as technology improved, so did the requests for cosplay cam models.

We’ve now reached a point where many models are using it just for fun. Sure, some do it for user satisfaction and tips, but many are so into it that they’re doing it professionally every day. If you’re looking to get into character and give this a shot, then knowing the facts and understanding the rules should help get you into character and hopefully boost your earnings.

Who Does It

Lots of models perform cosplay acts here at Camsoda. To be honest, there are many models getting into character every day. Too many to really cover, but just to share a couple of models who do this well, check out Sabrina Nichole and Elizabeth Rage.

Both of these models do a great job of getting into character and putting on shows for fans. The best way to find out which models are into this is to search using the tags on Camsoda.com. If you’re looking for a specific list of models who participate in this, please reach out to customer support and they’ll be able to provide you with the details.

The Types Of Cosplay

There are many types of cosplay and knowing them and what’s popular can definitely help improve your chances of winning over users at Camsoda. Anime is the first thing that typically comes to mind for most people, but it’s just scratching the surface. There are many other styles to choose from…

Anime / Manga Characters

Taking the role of an anime and manga character is by far the most popular route that cosplayers take. There is something about bringing an anime to life that cam fans absolutely love. The number of requests that pour in for this one is pretty substantial.

Sexy

What comes to mind when you think of all things sexy? Is it the traditional Playboy Bunny? If so, then you nailed it. Dressing up a Playboy Bunny version of a character is a fan favorite. A sexy Captain America Playboy Bunny or perhaps a Thor as a Bunny or maybe some villain, some other Marvel character, or even a Disney Bunny. Sounds sexy huh? That’s because it is!

Making The Unsexy Sexy

This type of character is often played by a very sexy girl who decides to play an unsexy character. Think of a sexy Greedo character from Star Wars. Cam fans love using their imaginations and the unsexy, sexy approach to cosplay does the job.

Intentionally Not Sexy

This one isn’t quite as popular but definitely worth mentioning. It’s when a cosplayer intentionally dresses up and plays the role of being intentionally unsexy. A good example of this is a man ironically dressing as a hairy Marilyn Monroe. I don’t know about you, but I speak for the majority when I say that this isn’t attractive. Of course, to each their own, right.

Historical

Historical cosplay costumes typically take something modern and give them a historical spin. A good example of this is Spider-Man living in the 16th or 17th Century. Many models like this one because it allows them to really think outside the box and get creative.

Apocalyptic

Dark times and futures of nothing, apocalyptic cosplay takes a common character and puts them at an end of the world situation. Think about your favorite cartoon character in the Walking Dead. Something along those lines is what really gets people going today it seems.

There are many other variations of cosplay to consider, but that should be enough to get you started.

Some Basic Rules Of Cosplay

There are some rules that you need to know about if you’re going to adventure down this path…

Put In The Effort

If you’re going to get into Cosplay, then put in the effort and really give it your all when it comes to picking your costume. The more thought and effort you put into your cosplay costume, the more you’re likely to earn during your shows.

Stay Relevant

Sticking to what’s trending will definitely build a bigger audience. I suggest using Google Trends in order to determine what’s popular and what’s hot these days. If you can ride a wave, then go for it!

Be Resourceful

Going out a buying everything brand new isn’t always the best approach. Use what you have to make your costume. Think about what might be in your closet that you can use versus going into your wallet. You’ll score more points with fans if you take this approach.

Say Not To Party City

Settling for a large retailer that just pumps out basic costumes isn’t the way to approach cosplay costume design. Use the Internet, search for high-quality suppliers, and see what you can find. My guess is that cam fans will appreciate it.

Don’t Accept Shaming/Degrading

There is no point where you should accept any type of shaming or degrading talk from anyone, especially cam users. There are far too many bullies on the Internet and letting them get away with talking down to you during cosplay is a big no, no.

If you run into any problems, please reach out to our support team and we’ll have that user removed and banned for life. This is a safe place for everyone and we intend on keeping it that way.

Payments For Private

All cam fans making special requests should be directly prompted with an opportunity to go private. Cosplay cammers love long cam shows that they can spend time with someone playing their favorite character. You should always try and take them into private, fulfill their fantasies, and fill your pockets with money.

Conclusion

That’s pretty much all you need to know to get started with Cosplay. Like I said, stick to the rules, know the trends, be creative and you’re bound to make more money!
