Born on September 18, 1984, in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, Herrig began her career in 2003 as a kickboxer and later transitioned to MMA in 2009. She is renowned for her contributions to the UFC's inaugural strawweight division and her resilience through injuries, including a torn ACL in 2019.
