It’s no secret that TikTok has become one of the biggest if not fastest growing social media apps ever to exist. I’ve covered social media platforms (as well as challenges) in detail here on the blog and even covered what’s trending today. With lots of adopters comes many personalities and with many personalities comes a wide variety of content. Today I’ll be covering everything you need to know about the TikTok creators, what they’re doing that’s going to the moon and commonalities they possess when going viral.

15 year old Franek Bielak has a TikTok with views that amassed 46M views. It’s the 15-year-old reacting to a TikTok and creating a drawing after shockingly seeing all the views from a green lips and teeth post. All those views came within three months. Yes, you heard that right, 24 hours of work, three months time and close to 47M views.
Billie Eilish’s First Video
It’s no surprise that Billie Ellish is crazy popular today. This is her year, no doubt about that. When she joined TikTok, her first video went viral. It’s basically her using the Time Warp Scan filter that’s available on the platform and within a few months, she ended up racked up close to 37M views.
British Promise Cats
The British Promise Cats video posted in June 2020 went viral. It’s a video of a cat putting its face and paw in a cardboard roll. Yes, it’s adorable and yes, it’s got 34M views. Everyone loves furry cute clips and this proves just that!
It’s Nasty Naz Buys Homeless Guy Food
Nasty Naz saw that a homeless man was hungry and he went out of his way to buy the guy food and a drink. The homeless man was staring at a guy inside the store eating. Naz called him in, offered him something and he was over the moon happy! Kind, caring, and climbing the views chart to 26M views.
Outdoorkindaguy Wave Hits The Camera
The “Wait for the wave to hit the camera” TikTok has earned 27M views to date. This simply showcases the underwater view of what happens when a way crashes on a beach in Australia. It’s pretty damn cool!
So, as you can see there are many different types of TikTok videos that can go viral. It’s not about being explicit or stepping over the line, it’s so much more than that.
Some TikTok Stars You Need To Know About…
Many of the TikTok celebrities are part of Gen Z. In fact, I’d say the majority of them are a part of this generation, both creators and consumers. How did these stars gain the heavyweight belts in social stardom?
A lot of it has to do with good lip syncing, killer dance moves, comedy shorts, and perfect timing. Some of these TikTok born stars get their start on the platform and end up on much bigger platforms with contracts and bigger bucks if you know what I mean.

Dominik also known as Domelipa in-app is a beautiful 19-year-old brunette who has earned 1.6B likes and 23M followers on TikTok. Dominik is from Moterrey, Mexico and she’s been creating lip-sync and dance clips since 2018. @domelipa

Sway House’s Noah Beck is a 19 year old TikTok creator who’s considered to be one of the best creators of 2020. He typically posts funny videos and lifestyle clips. He’s earned 1.7B likes and 26.5M followers to date. @noahbeck
Josh Richards
Josh is an 18 year old creator living in a house in LA that’s been specifically designed for video production, content creation and collaboration. Think of it as the TikTok version of the Camsoda House. Of course, he’s not creating explicit content to publish on TikTok, but he’s famous nonetheless. With 1.6B likes and 24.4M followers, he’s as famous as it sounds. @joshrichards
As you can see, I’ve not mentioned many big name celebrities, but make no mistake about it, there are plenty of A-list celebs using this platform today and they’re gaining likes and views by the millions doing so.
What’s The Catch?
So what is it that makes content on this platform so appealing? Why is it so addicting? Perhaps it has a lot to do with the way the content is displayed but also the short form of it.
Each of these videos are between 15 and 60 seconds long. Many of the videos capture creators lip-syncing, pulling off pranks, joking with friends, doing choreographed dances, duel videos and more.
The content is entertaining, easy to consume, often informative and instantly gratifying for the creators. The likes and followers seem to roll in like a tsunami when something hits the right spot.
That wave of recognition often motivates users to want to create more content and get better. So, the catch here is that it’s easy to create and share content.

Capture Attention Fast AF. These videos are short and you only have a couple of seconds to capture your audience. Be sure to kick your videos off on fire! Do not look to strategize for the big build up, they’ll be scrolling already.

Communicate. If people are commenting, then be sure to comment back and communicate with them. If you can share further details about the video with people in the comments, they’ll love it. This is the type of stuff that fans go nuts over.
Have A Good CTA. Nearly every video that goes viral has a strong call to action. Why? Well, it’s a cat and mouse game.
