Instagram Hashtag Advice & Content Tips For Models

Instagram Hashtag Advice & Content Tips For Models

Do you want to be a winner when it comes to Instagram? Sure you do. Every cam model on the planet wants to win at Instagram. Social proof helps build your brand today and that often leads to more dollars in your bank account. Makes sense doesn’t it? Well, if you want to gain more fans on Instagram and make (and save) more money as a cam girl, then you need to know a few new things about the platform. Today I’ll be focusing on two main topics that can make or break your success on IG. Yes, I’m referring to hashtags and content creation. These two things, if done incorrectly, can earn you a one-way ticket on the ban express with no quick return. So don’t take these things lightly that I’m covering today. I am not trying to scare you, I just want you to know how influential and helpful social media can be for models.

Help! Instagram Hashtagging and Content Creation Tips

Okay, so I’ll kick things off with the obvious without being too much of a debbie downer. To a certain extent, we’ve all been quarantined for months now. During those months, there’s a good chance we have familiarized ourselves with how Instagram works.

Now, if you’re a habitual line stepper like myself, but careless, then there’s a good chance you’ve pushed the envelope enough to get banned, lose traction, or just not make any real progress on Instagram. It’s common and yes, it’s your fault.

Don’t worry though – there’s still hope!

Although 2020 has kinda sucked, there are a couple of good things that have come about, one being Instagram’s Terms of Service being updated. They’re taking a more lenient stance when it comes to content, but they are still not playing when it comes to nudity.

However, the handbra can now live on the gram, which means you can snap all those sexy handbra shots if they’re done in good taste. What I mean by that is if you’re keeping things sensual and not so much sexual. This is a big win for models that love to show skin to attract followers. A model can now get tremendous traction if she’s playing by the rules walking the line of “sensual” not “sexual” and this can be done successfully simply by using the right hashtags.

What Changed In The Instagram TOS?

A LOT. Remember, Instagram was so strict that they’d throw the ban hammer for almost nothing sexual at all if it was naked. Heck, they even banned naked painted created by artists from centuries ago. As of the end of October, both Instagram and Facebook changed their view on nudity, stating in the terms of service that they will allow “content where someone is simply hugging, cupping or holding their breasts.”

This is known as a handbra and it’s finally the open door that models have been waiting for. What does this mean exactly? Well, it means that you shouldn’t be afraid to show a little more skin when posting on Instagram, but make sure that you’re posting tasteful content that screams sensual, not sexual.

Is IG Even Cool?

I guess it depends on who you ask. Many people will say that Instagram isn’t the “cool” kid on the block anymore. However, there are way too many users still burying their faces in their feeds for hours to ignore it. In fact, there are about 1 billion users who are diving deep into the app on a daily basis. They’re using the app for an average of 28 minutes per day.

That time in the app is far greater than any other app or website out there. So, whether or not people think Instagram is cool, it’s definitely cool to make money and with the right monetization efforts via hashtags, you’ll be heading to the bank with your pockets full of cash.

Hashtag Use On Instagram

If you’ve mastered or improved content posting, then the next step is perfecting the art of applying hashtags to your posts. You’re able to use as many as 30 hashtags on your posts. That doesn’t mean you should do that though. In fact, that machine gun approach may do you more harm than good.

What happens if you go buck wild and use bad hashtags? Well, you can plan on getting no new followers. You can also plan on getting hit with an algorithm penalty, a reduction in feed display and even shadow banned. All this can happen just from making some improper associations.

What happens if you play by the rules? Well, using hashtags appropriately and remaining relevant can truly lead to gaining high-quality, even excellent users and it can also lead to an increased chance of showing up in the discovery section of Instagram. If you’re serious about marketing and building your brand as a model, then you should stay relevant, post high-quality content and remain focused on the end goal.

Hashtags can basically catapult audience reach if used properly. What will happen here is you’ll end up on the page for that specific hashtag that you’ve used. If you’re smart about the hashtags, then you’ll pick up followers from those who follow the hashtags. There are a few different types of hashtags you should consider using. I know I sound like a broken record, but always remember to remain relevant.

The most common number of hashtags used today is between 1 and 3, but for effectiveness, it seems to be magic number 11 that does the trick.

Product/Service: These hashtags describe the type of product or service that you’re posting about. Think #chat #livecams

Niche: This one is more narrow, think #camgirl #cammodel

Industry: You’ll want to post using hashtags of the IG community related to models. For example, #modelsofinstagram

Event/Seasonal: Use this one to post about national days, holidays or seasons #nationalicecreamday #christmas

Location: Be sure to both geo tag and hashtag location relevant things #miamieats

Daily: There are plenty of hashtags for the days of the week. Do some searches and you’ll find them in a matter of seconds #sundayfunday

Acronym: Use acronyms in hashtags #FBF #OOT #FTW you get the point I think.

Emoji: You can even use emojis in hashtags so long as they’re relevant.

Brand: Last but not least, use brand hashtags so that people can find everything relevant to your brand in one please.

#Tools You Can Use

Looking to game the hashtags and outsmart the competition? You might want to think about using a few tools.  There are some hashtag generators out there that include statistics. Using these tools would be a smart idea as they back up your selection versus just guessing.

If you’re not inclined to use these then just search Instagram organically to get the volume of posts applied to specific hashtags. Check out Ingramer’s hashtag generator, the generator by All Hashtag, or the app by Sistrix. These will all help you quickly identify hashtags that will help you grow your brand on Instagram.
