Christmas Movies: Which XMAS Flicks To Watch In 2021

With Christmas right around the corner, the Christmas holiday spirit is high, and we can’t help but feel the festive vibe. You know what else the Christmas season brings, right? Yes, I’m talking about Christmas movies! It’s the perfect time of the year to put on your plaid pajamas, snuggle up with your partner and a cup of hot chocolate, or a glass of wine, if that is your preference, and have a Christmas movie marathon.

If you’re a cam girl, maybe you’ll want to Netflix and cam in festive lingerie to comment on the movies. Not saying you have to, but a movie marathon on cam with fans watching the same movie and commenting wouldn’t be a bad idea. But first thing is first, which movies should you consider? Not sure? Don’t worry, I’ve got it all covered below.

XMAS Movies

Must-See Movies This Christmas – Tis The Season!

But what to watch this Christmas season? You are in luck, as we’ve prepared a detailed list of different types of Christmas holiday movies to satisfy everyone’s tastes. In our Christmas movie list, you will find family movies, action movies, sexy movies, and feel-good Christmas movies so that you can create the perfect holiday season movie marathon list. Let’s dive right in!

Family Christmas Movies

These are must-see movies for the whole family to enjoy. I personally would start with elf, but the choice is yours! Truthfully, they’re all good and worth the watch. Don’t you dare skip out on watching the Lampoon’s listing below!

Gremlins (1984)

No Christmas movie list can be complete without Gremlins. This timeless classic is the perfect blend between comedy, family movie, horror, and fantasy movie – all the ingredients for an excellent holiday watch.

Elf (2003)

A Christmas movie starring Will Ferrell is guaranteed to make the whole family laugh until you cry. Paired with James Caan, Bob Newhart, and a bunch of other great actors, this movie is a must-see this Christmas. Will Ferrel is hilarious in this movie and this might be one of my all-time faves.

Home Alone (1990)

One of the movies that have left an undeniable mark on entire generations, Home Alone is a must-see for Christmas. Get reminded of the shenanigans of the lovable 8-year old Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) as he protects his house from Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern). Press play ya filthy animal!

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

Enjoy the Griswold family holiday plans and how they turn into disaster after disaster. This is another must-see Christmas movie with a perfect cast led by funnyman Chevy Chase. Seriously, if you don’t watch this then I don’t know what to say. You’re at a loss if not.

The Polar Express (2004)

A family Christmas movie marathon would not be complete without The Polar Express. The movie about a young hero boy traveling on a magic train headed for Santa Claus’s home is a feel-good, inspirational movie that will bring the spirit of Christmas into your home.

The Christmas Chronicles (2018)

A family Christmas movie, The Christmas Chronicles stars Kurt Russel as Santa Claus, who takes a brother/sister duo on a Christmas adventure they’ll never forget. Find it on Netflix and chill…

How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

The story of the Grinch, the Whoville’s villain, as he plans to ruin Christmas but decides to save it instead.  A family Christmas movie that you can watch with those of all ages should be on your Christmas movie repertoire. Find it on Netflix and start streaming today.

The Family Man (2000)

A modern rendering of another holiday movie gem, The Family Man, tells the story of a fast-lane businessman who wakes up in a parallel universe to a wife and children – the universe shows him how his life would look if things were different. A must-see Christmas movie. While it’s not my personal favorite, many absolutely love this and consider it a must-watch annually during the season.

Jingle All The Way (1996)

In a somewhat ridiculous Christmas family movie, we see Arnold Schwarzenegger compete with another dad and an army of Santas to get a toy for his son. The movie is full of corny one-liners and funny scenes and is a good family Christmas movie.

Action/Comedy Christmas Movies

This section covers the action-packed movies and some that are for mature audiences only. Nevertheless, if you like explicit language, violence, and action, then this category is just for you.

Die Hard (1988)

One of the best action movies ever, Die Hard redefined its genre, made Bruce Willis a true movie star, and one of the best Christmas movies ever. Saving his wife and his colleagues from terrorists during the office Christmas party, John McClane is the perfect modern-day hero and sets the bar high. While you are at it, watch Die Hard 2, which also takes place over Christmas. Go figure, right!

Bad Santa (2003)

The title says it all – this is a movie about a con man-turned department store Santa Claus and his helper looking to rob the store on Christmas Eve. While it is Christmas-y themed, it is not recommended you watch this with kids. Too much swearing and treating people like complete crap. It’ll have you rolling on the floor laughing out loud though, so trust me – watch it. When done with the movie, load in Bad Santa 2 (2016) and see Willie trying to con a charity. You can find both movies on Netflix.

The Night Before (2015)

A comedy about three friends looking for the Holy Grail of Christmas parties, the movie stars Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Anthony Mackie. A must-see movie full of hilarious jokes and intense dramatic events, The Night Before is a perfect Christmas movie to watch with friends. Streaming on Netflix, this is a must watch. If you’re into smoking weed, then this Seth Rogen movie is for you.

A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (2011)

After a stint at Guantanamo Bay, Harold and Kumar get into trouble after inadvertently burning down Harold’s father-in-law’s prized Christmas tree. This is a great Christmas movie marathon title, a movie full of jokes you can enjoy with friends or adult family, as it is R-rated. You can watch it on Netflix and yes, this one is for the cannabis fans too.

Trading Places (1983)

A John Landis masterpiece, Trading Places stars Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd – one a snobbish investor and the other street con artists as they trade places as a part of a bet by two bored millionaires. Streaming on Hulu right now and perhaps not for long so act fast.

Fatman (2020)

A darker take on the tale of Santa, this movie stars Mel Gibson as Santa Claus. The ploy twist happens when a neglected 12-year-old hires an assassin to kill Santa because he brought him a lump of coal. Find it on Amazon Prime Video today.

Office Christmas Party (2016)

It is a Christmas-themed comedy about an office party thrown to save the company’s branch amidst the CEO’s efforts to close it down. Things start nicely but soon get out of hand, and as the movie progresses, there are more and more outrageous situations and indecency. This one stars one of the actors of Silicon Valley. Yes, the most hilarious one, so get to watching. You can stream it on Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Scary and Horror Christmas Movies

Some people prefer horror movies all year round. This section is for those folks. If that’s you, then be sure to watch some of these movies listed below.

A Christmas Horror Story (2015)

A horror take on the Christmas story – a family brings home a Christmas tree and a terrorizing presence. But in a dramatic turn of events, Santa slays evil and saves Christmas. Find it on Amazon Prime.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

It is a perfect rendition of a modern stop-motion movie by Tim Burton, in which Jack Skellington, the king of HalloweenTown, discovers Christmas Town and wants to share in the Christmas spirit. A must-see movie for all horror lovers. Find it on Disney+.

Christmas Evil (1980)

A much darker Christmas movie, Christmas Evil, shows a mentally damaged toy factory worker having a mental breakdown at work. This movie is not for everyone, as it is a dark horror story that can leave you hating Christmas after all. You can find it on Amazon Prime Video.

Romantic/Sexy Christmas Movies

If you’re into that lovey dovey stuff, then this ones for you. Actually, there are some really funny flicks here too. Enjoy ‘em all!

The Holiday (2006)

When it comes to romantic movies, some actors fit these roles, and in the case of The Holiday, Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black are perfect. The tale is excellent, and you can curl up in your favorite chair, get a cup of cocoa and enjoy a ture holiday rom-com. Streaming on Netflix.

Four Christmases (2008)

Do you think you have a crazy family? You should watch Four Christmases and see what Kate and Brad go through with their crazy families, as they have to visit their divorced parents, and instead of one, have four awkward family reunions. Vince Vaughn is a riot in this movie. The guy is a comedic genius. Be sure to watch it on Netflix.

Happiest Season (2020)

Is Christmas the happiest season? Well, watch this movie about a gay couple, Abby and Harper. Abby goes to meet Harper’s family and plans to propose over the holiday. But things are not as they seem. Watch it on Hulu.

Love Actually (2003)

An ensemble cast stars in this perfect holiday movie. Follow the lives of eight different couples as they navigate love and family a month before Christmas. Sure, this one is a little mushy, but it’s great and there’s no denying that. Begin streaming on Netflix anytime this holiday season.

Just Friends (2005)

A successful record exec visits his family and hometown for Christmas, meeting his former love. Her rejection has turned him into a womanizer, but things change as they reconnect. It’s romantic, funny, and everything in between. Watch it on Netflix.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009)

https://youtu.be/LUUIY7Fnzts

Matthew McConaughey stars in this fantasy romantic comedy loosely based on the timeless classic A Christmas Carol. Watch him get haunted by the ghosts of his former girlfriends and how he learns to find love. Find it on Netflix.

Feel-Good Christmas Movies

Gotta love the feel-good movies. While we typically dodge this category all year long. When Christmas is near, many people get the itch to watch these. Guess what, the time is now.

It’s A Wonderful Life (1946)

Arguably the best Christmas movie ever made, this is an absolute gem and one that you can enjoy with the whole family. The story is a timeless classic, supported by an impressive cast, and is the quintessential feel-good Christmas movie.

A Christmas Carol (2009)

An animated version of the classic Charles Dickens novel about the Victorian-era miser Scrooge. He is taken on a journey of self-redemption by three mysterious Christmas apparitions. Watch it on Disney+.

Noel (2004)

In this movie, a stellar cast of stars about five New Yorkers whose lives blend together on Christmas Eve, all looking for a miracle. Even though it may seem like a romantic comedy, this is a feel-good movie of the best kind. Watch it on Amazon Prime.

Wrapping Things Up…

If you’ve got time, then you’ve got plenty to do now! Make some popcorn and grab your remote. Full disclosure though. I’ve selected just a small portion of the many Christmas-themed and other holiday-themed movies you can watch over the holiday season this year. Sure, there are many more, but it would be impossible to fit every movie on this list.

Be sure to enjoy your favorite holiday movies that make you want to snuggle up in your favorite blanket and savor the Christmas spirit. Do it with your partner or perhaps even connect with your Camsoda fans in a virtual watch-a-thon. Whatever you do, don’t sleep on this because some of the streaming options may go away! Happy watching and happy holidays!
