Getting started · Step 0

Get Live in a Week. Then Let the Training Take Over.

This free guide gets you from curious to your first confident stream. The full Camsoda University training is what turns that first stream into real, repeatable income.

Before you begin

What you need to get started

Getting set up to cam is simpler than most people expect. You don't need expensive equipment or a studio: you need a few essentials and a private space you control. Tick these off, then move through the six steps.

One thing is non-negotiable: you must be of legal age and able to verify it. Everything else you'll sharpen inside the training.

🎉

You're 18+ with a valid ID

You must be at least 18 (or older where your region requires it) and able to verify your age with a government-issued ID.

🏠

A private space you control

A room where you won't be interrupted and that you can keep free of anything identifying in the background.

📷

A camera and steady internet

A laptop webcam or phone is enough to start. A reliable upload connection matters more than fancy gear.

📧

An email and a stage name

Use an email kept separate from your personal one, and pick a stage name you're comfortable being known by online.

The on-ramp

Six steps to your first stream

Work through these in order. They get you live: the training then takes each one much deeper.

1

Confirm eligibility & verify your age

Check the requirements above and have your government-issued ID ready. Age verification is the first thing you'll complete when you sign up.

Required first
2

Set up your space & gear

Pick your room, clear and de-identify the background, and position your camera at eye level. Add a single light source facing you.

~1 hour
3

Create your model account

Sign up as a model, complete age verification, and add your payout details. Double-check everything so payouts aren't held up later.

15–30 min
4

Build your persona & profile

Decide who you are on camera: your vibe, your boundaries, what you do and don't do. Write a short bio and set your tags.

Sets your tone
5

Plan your first stream

Choose a day and a realistic length (an hour is plenty to start). Do a private test broadcast to check camera, lighting, audio and lag.

Practice run
6

Go live, then keep going

Start your first real stream and treat it as learning. You're now officially on camera, which is exactly where the training picks up.

You're live!
Step 0 complete

You can go live. Now learn to earn.

The six steps are the easy part. Performance, audience growth, branding and monetization are where the training takes over.

  • One light facing you (a window works)
  • A quiet, private, tidy room
  • Stable internet connection
  • Something to prop the camera at eye level

Better

Worth it early

Safety & privacy come before everything

  • Protect your identity: use a stage name, never reveal your real name, address or location.
  • Geo-block your region so people near you are far less likely to find you.
  • De-identify your background: no mail, windows, or recognizable landmarks on camera.
  • Keep personal and work accounts, emails and devices completely separate.
  • Learn the block, ban and report tools before you go live, not after.
Set your boundaries

Decide your limits in advance

  • Write a clear list of what you will and won't do, before your first stream.
  • You can say no at any time. A boundary you set is not up for negotiation.
  • Never feel pressured by tips or requests into anything you're not comfortable with.
  • Take breaks. Your wellbeing matters more than any single session.
  • Trust your instincts: if something feels off, end the interaction.
