Best Halloween Movies To Watch In 2020

Halloween Movies

What’s one thing that everyone loves about Halloween besides dressing up in naughty costumes? You guessed it, the movies! Whether you’re into super scary horror films or the family fun flicks, there’s something for everyone.

To keep in the Halloween spirit and perhaps even prep you for free cam show chats related to the holiday, we’ve outlined some of the most popular movie choices to consider watching. Don’t have enough time for television? Impossible!

Everyone has time for at least one movie. Whether you’re planning a Netflix and chill session with someone or perhaps just looking for a spooky fun time before hopping on cam, here’s a list of movies to consider.

Get Your Spooky On With These Must-See Halloween Movies

I decided to break this up a bit for those who are truly petrified of scary movies. I’ll first cover the scary films that are likely to leave you unable to sleep at night, jumping out of your seat, screaming with fright, or wondering if you’re next. That’s right, this is the list of horror films to consider watching. Just make sure the doors and windows are locked…muahahahaha!

Halloween Horror Movies

Horror Halloween Movies

This list is in no particular order. Each film is worth watching if you have the time. If not, grab your popcorn, choose one and prepare for a fright night you’ll never forget.

Halloween (1978)

The original Michael Myers thriller has it all. Butchering family members, being committed to mental hospitals, escaping and going after the babysitter on Halloween night. It really doesn’t get any more classic scary Halloween than this. It’s possibly the most well-known Halloween movie of all-time.

Hellraiser (1987)

This film by Clive Barker contains just about everything scary you can think of. Demons, an underworld that’s as close to hell as you can imagine. Zombies, sadomasochism and everything else to keep you from getting sleep the rest of the year. It turns out that hell truly is a dark, dark place.

Exorcist (1973)

A horror classic, the Exorcist was one of the very first scary films that made us all truly believe that becoming possessed was possible. Demons taking over humans and the help of a priest is her only hope. A film that many religious individuals to this day still choose to avoid. Be prepared to be frightened.

House of 1000 Corpses (2003)

Any film featuring the late Sid Haig is scary. Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses puts you in the presence of a family who’s as twisted as they get. Trust and bad decisions lead two nieve couples on a straight path to blood, guts and gore. Think you’ll make it out alive? Think again!

The Conjuring (2013)

Not many horror films are based on true stories, The Conjuring is one of them and it’s frightening. Do you get freaked out of being in secluded places with nowhere to run, nowhere to hide? The presence in the room is enough to make you shriek!

The VVitch (2016)

Not all horror movies are scary. Some are just flat out disturbing! If the thought of witchcraft and possessed behavior scare you to death then this New England folktale will scare the heck out of you.

Saw I (2004)

Games are always more intense when your life’s on the line. This is the first of the Saw series produced by James Wan. This film keeps you thinking and on your toes the entire movie. It’s a survival game and the game is no game, it’s your life.

Silence of the Lambs (1991)

A horror classic, some say the Silence of the Lambs is the scariest movie they’ve ever seen. A mental asylum, a serial killer hunting women for their skin, a novice FBI agent in training. This one checks all the boxes of a scary thriller.

Hostel (2005)

This 2005 film was directed on a shoestring budget by Eli Roth. Imagine going on vacation backpacking in Europe. You arrive and run into half naked girls staying in your hostel. Sounds like a dream right? Well, prepare to be hunted by an elite group who kill for the sport of it.

The Devil’s Rejects (2005)

Another Rob Zombie classic and a sequel to the House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects brings us up to speed with where that crazy Firefly family ended up after going on a murder mascarade. There’s a bounty on each family member and they want them, dead not alive.

Broad Interest / Family / Funny Halloween Movies

Okay, you can open your eyes and uncover your ears now. This list is for those looking for something a bit lighter, maybe something not as scary but enough to keep you in the Halloween spirit.

Hubie Halloween (2020)

The latest Netflix movie starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and many from the infamous Billy Madison, this one is for those looking for something twisty, with a little bit of everything. You know it’s a bit goofy when Adam Sandler plays the main character. This one landed in the top 10 Netflix rankings, which is enough of a reason to check it out.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

A classic film where a kid moves to infamous Salem, MA where he can’t quite make friends and doesn’t fit the mold it seems. Things get interesting when witches end up waking up after a long sleep since the early 17th century. It’s a fun movie featuring sexy Sarah Jessica Parker who plays one of the witches. What’s not to love!

Beetlejuice (1988)

Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice is a classic generally not-so-scary movie that anyone can enjoy. A husband and wife die in the house only to have to put up with the family from hell. Obnoxious is just scratching the surface when it comes to describing this family. Beetlejuice helps make things right!

Addams Family (2019)

This is what many describe as the animated version of the 1991 Addams Family movie. The movie leaves you feeling not so different or weird, no matter what and a friendly reminder that we’re all different yet quite ordinary. You’ll get all your favorite Family members. Be ready for Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Gomez and the rest of the gang. If you’re looking for an animated Halloween movie, this is the one.

Scoob (2020)

Ghosts, mysteries, Scooby snacks and more, the Scooby Doo movie is perfect for people of all ages. It’s literally a reboot of the traditional Scooby Doo show, jam-packed in a movie. It’s funny, friendly, fine for all and the typical adventure you’d expect from Scooby and the rest of the gang.

The Craft (1996)

A girl who finds her place in the not so popular crowd ends up getting exposed to The Craft when they reveal some powers they’ve discovered. Using powers can really go to your head. Find out what happens when one of the girls decides she’s done being pushed around.

The Monster Squad (1987)

The Monster Squad is a classic! A group of kids who ironically are die hard monster comic and movie fans, end up fighting off monsters who invade their town. The squad is on a mission to save the town and they’ve got a job to do. Fighting off Dracula, Gill Man, the Mummy and others is what they must do!

The Witches (1990)

Based on a Roald Dahl book, The Witches brings the dark novel to life on film. A curious boy gets turned into a mouse, discovers a witch convention taking place. He does everything in his mighty mouse power to shut things down.

Now that you’ve got plenty of films to choose from, stop wasting time and start watching! If you get too scared, then just remember that you’ve always got company close by. Camsoda members are just a few clicks away.

In fact, what we recommend doing is starting a chat session after you finish the movie. Ask members what they think of it. Discuss your thoughts and feelings on it and please feel free to wear your Halloween costume during this discussion. Give the members an extra treat and they’re likely to treat you with more tokens!
