Makeup Advice For Cam Girls

Makeup Advice For Cam Girls

Makeup Tips For Webcam Models

Cam girls have to worry about a lot of things. Many of which are appearance related and one thing that makes your appearance thrive or dive is makeup. The proper use of makeup for those doing on-camera work is crucial. A lot of this is personal choice and the way that you choose to apply your makeup varies, one thing is certain… looking your best typically translates to feeling and performing your best.

It really picks up the vibe and confidence of most performers when they look and feel good. Fans pick up on this, other models visiting your profile will pick up on this and hopefully it results in more tips in the long run.

We’ve decided to share a video for you detailing how a model might apply their makeup in order to get that sexy, confident, classic look in a matter of minutes. Keep reading and watching to learn more.

Camsoda’s Makeup Tips For Models

First thing is first, feel free to watch the video below. You’ll find that a lot of application related tips have been provided here. I’ve covered the steps more in depth below for those interested.

Primer

primer makeup

Step one after you’ve thoroughly cleansed your face is applying primer. This should always be applied first because it provides you with a solid base for the rest of your application process. When deciding which primer to apply, you’ll want to find one that leaves you with a matted finish. The reason you’ll want this type of finish is because anything too shiny is going to cause reflections on cam. This isn’t a solely aesthetic effect. In fact, it’s practical above all.

A main reason why you’re going to want to apply a solid primer is because it’s going to help you keep your face on under the lights. Doing cam work under the typical lighting setup can get hot. This heat can do a number on your makeup at times, which is why you need a primer to help keep things together.

In regards product options, you’ll notice the mention of Huda Beauty’s Complexion Perfection Primer, due to the matte look it provides, but there are tons of options out there for you to choose from. Be sure to take your time and apply the primer evenly on your skin.

Foundation

Okay, time to lay some foundation on foundation – pun intended! This one is going to heavily depend on how perfect your natural skin currently is. For the majority of us, we struggle with our skin and trying to obtain perfect skin will likely require medium or even full coverage. Many foundations on the market today are specifically created for people who do on camera work.

You’ll want to find something that helps cover your flaws such as pimples, acne, scar tissue and more. If a medium foundation doesn’t do the trick for you, then you might need to give a heavy duty foundation a try.

Providing you don’t have any serious skin issues, 90% of the foundations out there should be just fine so long as it doesn’t give off that shiny or shimmery look. If you’re interested in trying the brand and product showcased in the tutorial video, then pick up Huda Beauty Foundation, No. 200B Shortbread.

Concealer by Huda Beauty

Concealer

Once the foundation has been set, it’s time to apply concealer. In the video provided, you’ll find that the model is using Huda Beauty Concealer Meringue 04N. The objective of concealer is just as it sounds – to conceal. This product will help you hide any and all of the imperfections that you might have. You know, things like dark circles, eye bags, pimples, cysts and more.

When it comes to concealers, if you’re going to be working on cam most of the day, then you’re going to want to give a heavier product a try. You’ll want to use a heavy product here because they typically last longer and doing so will keep your face looking perfect without and cracks or caked on makeup visible.

If the concealer is strong enough, you’ll be able to use it on your body to conceal things like tattoos, body scars, bruises and any other flaws you’re looking to hide. Use a brush to apply it evenly. The goal is natural looking, long lasting, and the perfect you!

Setting Powder by Huda Beauty

Setting Powder

Next up is applying setting powder. What this does is it helps set your face, really smoothing things out here. For this step, you’ll want to use a brush to apply the powder evenly. Carefully go around your eyes, cheekbones, and the rest of your face.

Be sure not to neglect any area as you want to be sure that you evenly apply the setting powder. Be sure not to forget the neck and decollete area as well as the bridge of your nose.

Huda Highlighter

Highlighting & Bronzing

Now that you’ve covered up the bags under your eyes and those scars or pimples and you’ve set things, time to do some contouring. This is a specific method of applying makeup that’s just slightly a darker shade than your skin.

By doing this, you’re going to create shadows which are meant to help better define your bones and the structure of your face. With this step, you’ll want to apply bronzer to your cheeks. You’ll then want to apply a blush to your chin area and forehead. Apply some highlighter to your cheekbones to finish things off.

perfect eyes

Eye Time

Now it’s time to cover your eyes. In the video above, you’ll notice that the model decided to use the color pink. Which is a great choice for camming because you really want to use a bright color that catches the eye of your members and really accentuates yours.

On top of using the traditional eye shadow, you might want to consider using an eyeshadow primer. This does the same thing the primer for your face did, but this product is specifically for your eyes only. The concept is the same, apply the primer to hold that shadow for hours on end while camming.

fake lashes

Eyelashes

We can’t share a makeup video without mentioning lashes! In fact, this might be the most important thing. Fans are instantly drawn to long black lashes and they look super hot on cam. Use tweezers to gently apply the fake lashes. Be sure to watch the video above at minute 6:00 to get a better understanding of how to apply these properly so that they stay on.

Once you’ve successfully applied your fake lashes to your upper eyelids, you’ll want to then apply mascara to your bottom lashes. Be careful when applying this as you don’t want to get any in your eye. Also, please understand that a little goes a long way with eye mascara. Find a color that matches your fake lashes and you’re good to go!

lipstick

Luscious Lips

As for your lips, you’ll want to use something that looks more natural and also lasts a long time. As you know, performing can really do a number on your lipstick. That’s why many models choose to use liquid lipstick. It seems to last a lot longer than traditional lipstick and it’s also very easy to reapply if needed. Be sure to apply a nice natural lip liner to your lips before applying any lipstick.

Types Of Makeup

So, now that we’ve covered all the types of makeup and how to apply it, time to get into some of the different things to look for when shopping for makeup. There are lots of types of makeup out there to choose from. You’re going to have a lot of options and you need to know what things mean when you see brands marketing their products. So here’s a quick rundown of things to be on the lookout for…

Hypoallergenic – According to the FDA, “Hypoallergenic cosmetics are products that manufacturers claim produce fewer allergic reactions than other cosmetic products. Consumers with hypersensitive skin, and even those with “normal” skin, may be led to believe that these products will be gentler to their skin than non-hypoallergenic cosmetics.” Source

Fragrance-free – This is makeup which does not contain the additions of any fragrances, masking scents or perfumes.

Silicone-free – This means that there is no silicone in the product.

Paraben-free – This means that the product does not contain a commonly used preservative. Some people prefer to avoid this group of chemicals and they’d rather have products with a shorter shelf life.

Not tested on animals – This one is pretty self-explanatory, but it’s a product that is not tested on animals.

Oil-free – This means that the product does not contain any oils and if your skin is oily to begin with, then you should be looking for oil free options.
